UndergroundBot ("the bot") is a Discord bot and configuration dashboard run by a private operator. This page explains what data the service handles and why. It is written in plain language for a small project. If anything is unclear, contact the operator on Discord.
What we store
When the bot is added to a Discord server, it stores:
- the server ID and name, its channels, roles, categories and member count, so they can be shown in the dashboard;
- the settings you choose in the dashboard (channel selections, welcome and ticket messages, word lists, and any user or role IDs you add to lists);
- a moderation log: for each kick, ban, timeout, warning or auto-moderation action, the target and the responsible moderator (user ID and name), a timestamp and the reason. The most recent 500 entries per server are kept;
- warnings you or your moderators give: the target user ID, the moderator ID, the reason and a timestamp;
- ticket transcripts: when a ticket channel is closed, its messages are saved to a text file that is posted to your log channel and sent to the person who opened the ticket.
When you sign in to the dashboard with Discord, it stores:
- your Discord user ID, username and avatar URL;
- the list of servers you are a member of, provided by Discord through the OAuth2
identifyandguildsscopes.
This is used only to decide which servers you are allowed to configure. If you send the bot a direct message, your user ID, username and avatar URL are stored, and the text of the direct-message conversation with the bot (in both directions) is stored so the operator can read and continue it from the dashboard. The most recent 200 messages per person are kept.
What we do not do
- No advertising, no analytics or tracking scripts, no fingerprinting.
- No selling, renting or sharing of data with third parties.
- Auto-moderation checks message text in memory as messages arrive; message content on servers is not written to storage except for the ticket transcripts described above. Direct messages with the bot are stored as described above.
Cookies
The dashboard sets one signed session cookie so you stay logged in. There are no third-party or advertising cookies.
Storage and security
Data is stored as files on a private server and served over HTTPS. Discord tokens exchanged during login are used once and not stored.
Retention and your choices
- Server configuration and logs are kept while the bot is a member of your server.
- Remove the bot from your server to stop any further data collection.
- Revoke the dashboard's access at any time in Discord under Settings, Authorized Apps.
- To have stored data deleted, contact the operator on Discord.
Age
The service follows Discord's minimum age requirement. Do not use it if you are younger than the age required in your country to use Discord.
Changes
This policy may be updated. The date at the top of the page reflects the last change.
